Any more, it’s not just about meeting today’s needs for medical practices, it’s about anticipating tomorrow’s.

Advance preparations for ICD-10 are critical to the future success of medical practice revenue cycle management.

Sometimes looking ahead to a better way of medical coding and billing for your practice is hard to do. After all, the way you’ve been doing things had been working… or so you thought.

Anticipating how much better things can be is difficult to do, especially when there is a risk involved. There are bridges to a safe and secure transition that ensure the success of your medical coding, billing and collections.

Helping medical practices training of staff and test systems already is in progress by the leaders in outsourced, independent revenue assurance and ICD-10 experts: revMD.com. They are the bridge you need to ensure your healthcare revenue cycle management readiness.

The following is an update on testing from revMD.com’s Optum coding partners to help medical practices be fully prepared by the Oct. 1, 2014 deadline.

ICD-10 functionality for Optum Professional CAC was first released to beta clients in June 2013 and will be generally available to the full client base in October 2013. Beta clients will have access to a dedicated beta system. Details regarding the site configuration updates required for ICD-10 processing, along with billing rule and straight-to-bill migration plans, will be communicated in late summer 2013 in advance of General Availability.

NLP updates of ICD-10 capabilities will be released at regular intervals (8 weeks) to all ICD-10 CAC clients prior to Oct. 1, 2014. Release efforts will include focus on beta customer expectations and effectively build towards national engine performance goals. After Oct. 1, 2014, releases for ICD-10 will follow the normal update cycle for the production LifeCode NLP engine.
